Gustavo Plenge Honored with Arthur Taggart Award for Mineral Processing Achievements

Gustavo Plenge, general manager of C.H. Plenge & CIA S.A., was awarded the 2015 Arthur Taggart Award by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) in recognition of his contributions to mineral processing. His research focuses on optimizing the use of reagents, such as cyanide, in gold extraction to reduce both costs and environmental impact.

Under his leadership, Plenge Lab has become a trusted name in the mining industry, providing critical mineral analysis and metallurgical testing services. His innovative methodologies are already being applied in mines across Peru and Chile, solidifying Plenge Lab’s reputation internationally.
